Yes! We want to provide ways for you to be on the same page as your kids—literally! So the readings and recaps for the TBR Kids Podcast follow along with The Bible Recap's 365-Day Plan. (You can download a copy of the reading plan here.)
-
TBRK Podcast is based on the book The Bible Recap for Kids. The content is almost the same, but with a few minor changes made for listening and watching. Plus, there will be a few additional surprises along the way!
-
The Bible Recap for Kids book version was written with kids ages 8-12 in mind. TBRK Podcast is based on that book, but we think a wider variety of ages—kids and adults alike—will love the TBRK podcast! For an added layer of engagement, younger kids might enjoy following along with the daily corresponding activities in The Bible Recap Kids' Devotional.
-
They’re part of the TBR family—literally! They’re the sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, church members, and neighbors of our team members.
-
To put it simply, The Bible Recap Kids' Devotional is for those who are learning to read. (6+). The Bible Recap for Kids is for those who are reading to learn (8+). The devotional/activity book is full of puzzles, coloring pages, and word games. TBR for Kids is a daily recap of that day's reading, written in a way young readers can understand and enjoy. Both books follow along with The Bible Recap's 365-Day Plan
-
Item deEach day starts with a suggested Bible reading that averages three chapters. Your child may want to read the passages on their own, or they may prefer to listen to an audio version of those Bible chapters. Listening is a great option, particularly for emerging readers. Depending on the audio version and Bible translation you choose, listening to the audio of each day’s Bible reading takes an average of 12 minutes per day.scription
-
It can be! If you’re listening to the daily Bible readings, they average about 12 minutes per day. And the daily recaps are 4-5 minutes each. That said, take all the time you and your kids need to read, understand, and love the Bible together. Whether you finish in a year or five years, every day you’re in God’s Word is a good day!
-
The Bible covers many difficult topics (death, murder, rape, incest, adultery, demons, etc.). At TBR, we never want to censor Scripture, and we are also committed to talking about the Bible in age-appropriate ways. In the daily recaps, we handle challenging topics as faithfully and carefully as we can. Here’s an example. If adultery is a topic in that day’s reading, we might say something like—“he took someone else’s wife, and acted like she was his own.”
-
It depends on you and your kids! For adults doing TBR, we recommend reading or listening to Scripture before reading or listening to the daily recap. However, we recognize that every parent has a different standard for how they address a variety of topics with their children. So for kids, the order of reading or listening—and the portion(s) of Scripture—is up to your discretion.
-
Words to Remember are from the book The Bible Recap for Kids. In the book, you can look them up in the index to find which page they’re on. In the YouTube series, the definitions will appear on the screen as they’re read.
-
It’s a review of what we covered during the previous seven days of reading and recapping!

We want to provide families with many more resources to help kids read, understand, and love the Bible—so stay tuned! To make sure you’re up-to-date with all TBR news and happenings, sign up for our monthly newsletter, the NEWScap.
